In this topic you can post request for adding a roadwork or road closure event in the client app
For short and medium term roadworks or road closure we can add an event on the client map, just like you can do yourself in the app. Only these we can give a start and end time. So from a few hours till several days or even weeks. It’s still in beta, so there may be some problems. If you experience something strange, please let us know!
For which roadtypes you will add an event?
E - roads
A - roads
Exits
Ramps
N-roads
Main roads in a city
How do I report it to you?
Post a permalink of the area in Waze Livemap, maximum zoomed, with the segment(s) centered.
A short description about the event like ‘Road closed 16-18 June. Check http://www.website.be for detail’ or ‘Ramp closed 16 June 19:00 - 17 June 6:00’. It’s important to keep it short, just as you have to do when reporting something from the client app. Please post in the official language of the city. For the Brussel cities, try to post in French and dutch. If you can’t, please keep it in English.
Start date and time
End date and time
Classification from 1 to 10 for the nuisance. 1 is almost none - 10 very big.
Describe the start and endpoint where the roadworks take place. Sometimes an event for both sides is necessary.
All necessary extra information like, Is road totally closed or in 1 direction (what direction). And please do some research to provide a link about these roadworks. You can also post some screenshots or maps,…
Well, not really… I don’t know the situation over there. The info in that document is not really clear to me…There are a lot of changes like driving directions. It’s not only a turn restriction…
I added an event to the client, as example allready from today, so people are informed before…You can check it on the livemap or in the client right now
I’ve already disconnected the roads for the works reported above by elixdreamer several weeks ago, so waze should already get you through these important works in the center of brussels.
Maantje76, you mention we can add road work events : how do you do this ? I also notice that in other countries, “wazebot” is adding roadworks from time to time probably based on online databases of roadwork. Why isn’t this implemented in Belgium ?
We can add different type of events. Maybe you also see one or a few about the Waze meeting…At the moment this is in beta status, so there are only à few people that can do this…For Belgium there are no persons to do that at the moment. There are possibilities, but there are not much ‘active’ persons who we can ask to do this. It’s not bringing any points, so it’s just to help others…
Persons with rights can add events, that have to be confirmed by à feed manager. At the moment I’m the only one for Belgium, maybe Peter will also be helpfull for this in the future…(or as soon there are other country managers in Belgium…
To do this, we need sources that can communicate with this application and are completely free for use.
About the Bruxelles roadworks, I don’t think the map is updated since your changes. Last update was 9th of June. So that’s why it’s sometimes hard to deside what to do with à certain situation…
For Brussels ? Really ?? I’ll check this evening. I’m quite disappointed if my changes were not applied because I tried to do it on time especially to avoid people ending up in these famously closed tunnels.
I did take à look at link about roadworks. Only thing I did find was that this exit is closed from 1-5-2013 till 7-2013. Sluisweg is also closed that periode.
Maybe I’m wrong, but please check so you are shure about your request…
But it seems that I’m wrong too, because they opened up Sluisweg instead of the closed exit. The map is already updated. So a longterm report isn’t need because people won’t lose time
hmm, This website isn’t really clear…i saw somewhere that this exit was closed for the periode I posted earlier…But that’s a different project, same location
The temperory exit is allready exists as far i see, so I think this should be ok for now…
here you can see most of the constructions planed in Vlaanderen. The data isn’t ready to be imported directly in waze but it will help us to report closed roads.
Ok. I added the event to the database. Please post an permalink of the location next time. That’s a lot easier! I also see there is a lot to do in that area. It’s really really a big mess over there!
Done! Reported in the FTW system.
I’m not sure if this is sufficient. I understand that it will give a notification in the client like a traffic report. But i suppose it will not prevent waze from still routing through there?
