Hi,
In line with the request of the RC and other members of the Editor hierarchy, I will post a bit about me.
I “stumbled” onto Waze about April of 2014. Some list of the most useful phone apps, now lost in the mists of the inter-web. So, I tried it out, it seemed useful. I was doing quite a bit of traveling at the time … how hard can it be to become “Royalty”? About 4300 miles/7000 km later … hmmm, need more points. Those gamer instincts kicked in. Must try this editing thing, after all how difficult can it be? It’s probably just some CAD-like program. Well, yes it is. It’s also idiosyncratic, irritating, awkward … but fun.
Read the wiki, oh. There is so much more! Forums … yep that too. I’ll lurk, come up to speed (quietly) … and now I think I have enough of the basics to reach the next level.
About me, I have been on the forums and in Waze for over a year. I started actively editing May 2014 and was pretty gung-ho . . then I got a full-time job.
My name is Rick, I am 57, a retired software development manager, and now work in retail as a dept manager. I have a wife, 4 kids, a house, 1 dog, 1 cat and 3 hermit crabs. About 8 months ago I went from lots of editing time to a lot less. But, the bug has resurfaced and I am cleaning up things along my main travel corridors (SE Nebraska, and down to Springfield/Branson Missouri.
I hope to rearrange my daily time to work on Waze more consistently.
Cheers,
Rick
