I turned on city layer and looked at street labels and Rippon is labeled on streets near where the UR is reported. I couldn’t find anything on the Jefferson County, WV site on boundaries of the town so I wrote to the county to see if they could let me know the boundaries. I got this response today.
She included the graphic below. Since it came from their GIS office, may I assume I can use this information to set the street “city” property values in the area appropriately? (By mainly setting them to none outside of the “town.”)
Failing that, there are some little green signs saying “entering Rippon” on the roads that I can use next time I am in the area (like this afternoon!). There’s really only 3 roads I need to worry about… :lol:
To be honest, I’m not sure that every little crossroads with a population of 300 needs to be on the map. I’m not sure why Rippon is. There does seem to be a Rippon post office. If anyone actually uses Rippon as their mailing address that may have prompted its addition to the map.
All the roads that are labeled Rippon are last edited by locustmeat. It is likely worthwhile to reach out to locustmeat to see if locustmeat added the city name RIppon or if it was there before.
If you decide that it would be better to just eliminate Rippon rather than reducing it down to the area in the zoning map, let me know as that is better done on the back end.

Locusmeat has not responded to my PM. I’m all for your idea of just eliminating Rippon from the map. You mentioned you needed to do something on the back-end. Do I need to eliminate the city name from the streets first?
