Instead of splitting the segment, which wouldn’t take effect in the app at least until early Sunday morning, I applied closures for a week to some of the turns at the intersection of Sandwich St and Ojibway Pky. That way it can take effect immediately, and should essentially have the same effect.
With all four turn closures in effect until 6/28, this should be good to go.

The turn restrictions did not work unfortunately, Waze routed me to the closed segment. I have updated a new map note with details.
They expired on the 28th, is the road still closed? Do you have an idea as to how long it will remain closed?
Yes a small portion of the road is still closed. Construction ongoing and should end in 1-2 weeks.
