Road closures are inaccurate. Need better options to report

I’ve encountered this situation 3 times recently. The first was on I-70. They closed the whole freeway due to a car fire and rerouted traffic. The app would not allow me to select the correct closure and only allowed the offramp to be selected. It took hours before the closure somehow showed up on the app. If other Wazers could have reported it accurately, it could have saved me hours of a delay.

Then, in town for construction closures, I’ve also encountered the arrows not popping up in the correct location. It should be easier to select the closure area and even mark the distance of the closure if known.

I’ve found often this issue occurs when you’ve already entered the segment that’s closed. If you’re in the segment, you can’t close it in app. This is a bigger problem on freeways where you typically find long segments between exits.

It’s a common complaint. Best thing I can recommend is to try to open the Closure pane earlier, before you enter the segment, until the process can be adjusted (if that’s even in the plans.) It’s not a perfect solution but rather a workaround.

Believe me… we have been trying to get them to fix in-app closures for years :frowning:
