Road closures don't stick

I live in Beaufort, NC. They are redoing old pipes that are bury under the streets. For the past couple of weeks, I keep reporting the closed street, but the next day, Waze does not show the blocked avenues in the map. Is there a problem in the app?

I’ve been using the Waze beta for over 20 years and used to have a high level for map editor in the beginning. As my job took up more of my free time, I wasn’t able to continue editing the maps directly. Today, I discovered that I’m back to level 1 and can’t identify closed streets.

In the meantime, here is a screenshot of the roads that are closed (in red) and have been for several weeks. The red lines cover part of Live Oak St. from Mulberry St to Pine St, and Pine St from Hedrick St to Marsh St. I hope this helps.

Hi,
You have to be a level three editor to add real time closures that last in the Waze Map Editor.
The easiest way to get a local editor to add one for you is to let them know on the regional Discord Server.

North Carolina is in the South Atlantic Region and can be found here. SouthAtlantic | Discord Me

Moved to the NC forum.

Hey there, thanks for reaching out about the issue you’ve experienced.

I want to first confirm whether you added the closures inside the Waze app or through Waze Map Editor. Like Subs5 mentioned yesterday, you must be L3 to add real-time-closures (RTC) through WME, so I’m guessing you’ve added them through the app, in which case the closures will only remain active for one hour and also only in the direction you enabled the closure from.

I don’t personally have access to edit the map in Beaufort NC, but I can point out the issue here to one of our State Managers or to one of our coastal Area Managers. In the meanwhile, please comment with a perma-link for the exact streets you want closed, the estimated end-date for the work, and whether it’s continuous / during the day / weekdays only etc,

Again, thank you for reaching out!

Hello,

Yes, I used the Waze Beta app 3 times with the “road closure” option. Yesterday, I finally had a little free time to try the map editor and discovered that I’m back on level 1.

I don’t have any idea about the dates for the road work, but here’s what I’ve found so far about the projects:
