Construction has started on the new flyover at Newlands Cross in Dublin where the N7 and R113 meet. I’ve already moved the southbound N7 lanes in the map to match the new lanes that were opened a few days ago. The area is visible in the editor here. There will be another change in about three weeks when the northbound N7 lanes are moved to make room for the construction of the new flyover bridge. Ultimately we’ll have a bridge and slip lanes/ramps when it’s all finished.
I’ve created a UR at that location to alert other editors to the changes in progress and to point them to the forum, and I’ve locked the road segments there at L5.
If anybody becomes aware of changes in the road layout that haven’t made it to the map yet, or if you think we should handle this construction project differently, please discuss in this thread.

Anyway, a conversation started last night on the UR itself about the roadworks, so I thought I’d move the conversation here in case the UR gets closed (somebody closed it once already) and we lost the conversation - so here it is:
All remarks, comments and questions about the roadworks project and how we’re handling it in Waze are welcome. If I miss anything (such as a junction layout change) then please let me know! I work not far from Newlands Cross, and although don’t pass through it every day, I can pop down there at short notice to check out any changes.
Just a note for future use. We have a UK Roadworks sub-forum where we do this sort of thing. One of the things we try to do is actually place a link to the relevant forum post in the UR. If you include a URL in the text of a UR, it gets replaced by a blue, clickable “here”. We find it a very useful way of linking things up: if an editor sees the UR and opens it, they are then one click away from going straight to the forum post with more details.
Thanks Iain. I lurk in the UK roadworks forum - but just to look out for roadworks that might be close to the border here, so I hadn’t looked at any of the pertinent URs. Actually, I wouldn’t be able to see the URs anyway, since almost all of the UK is outside my editable area.
Anyway, that’s a good idea. URLs in UR comments don’t seem to get converted to clickable links. It’s a shame the UR text can’t be edited after the event, otherwise I’d put a link in there. The last comment on that UR does contain a link to this thread, at least.
I just wish more of the active editors in Ireland frequented this forum. Some do and some don’t, but I find a lot of posts here get more responses from UK editors than Ireland editors :?
You can always log out and go into Practise mode. Mind you, whilst you’ll then be able to see the link, when you click on it you’ll probably have to log back in to see the forum post!
That would be nice, but there’s nothing stopping you solving the UR and replacing it with a new one.
Also, if your UR text starts with [ROADWORKS] (must be upper case), there are specific filtering options for them in URO+ and LMUR, which I don’t think are country specific.
The flyover at Newlands Cross is opening on Thursday this week (November 20). I imagine there are other changes still to come to that junction, but Arthur O’Hara has already updated the map to accommodate the change - thanks Arthur!
