Hi, I want to know why, so far this year in 2025, Waze is marking navigation routes where the roads are dangerous to travel, have potholes of nearly 1 meter, and the streets are full of mud and some parts have floods of nearly 1 meter, and yet Waze still sends the route in the app directing me there. This happens very frequently and makes the app no longer reliable. I am from the State of Mexico, and for any address entered into the app, it always has this error.
Hi PattMasse,
Thanks for sharing your feedback. Waze maps are built and updated by a community of volunteers — users like you and me — who work together to improve the information and route quality.
The State of Mexico is the most populous state in the country, and changes to roads, closures, or terrain conditions are very frequent. Sometimes, the system doesn’t reflect these updates immediately, which can result in routes being suggested through roads in poor condition or flooded areas.
I also participate as a map editor and can confirm that any user can contribute by reporting or editing directly. Together, we make the app more reliable and useful for the community.
If you’re interested in participating, I’d be happy to guide you on how to get started with editing.
Best regards,
