I added in a parking lot area and road, but I’m not sure how to split that segment of S. Tryon St so that going to The Locker Room or Lynn’s from I-77 will include a U-Turn rather than just ending at a spot where you can’t actually turn into the parking lot.
Can someone split that?
(Come to think of it, that part of Woodlawn betwen I-77 and is also divided so that you can’t actually turn left into the hotel parking lot from Westbound Woodlawn Rd. The divider is solid from the I-77 ramp to the traffic light at Tryon.)
Welcome to editing! We’d love to have you help out with editing the map and a good way to get started is by joining us in Slack, a chat program we use to help each other out and goof off.
As jwe mentioned, it’s possible this section of Tryon doesn’t need to be divided. In Waze, we strive for simplicity of the map rather than mapping every road exactly as it’s laid out; of course, there are times when doing so is more beneficial than not, but 95% of the time, we can get the correct instructions using simple methods.
Road does not need to be divided there in waze. I fixed it so it waze should route to and from those business correctly. May I suggest you join us in Slack. Its a chat forum we use…its the best place to bring problems, ask for help, and get advice. You can join by filling out this form of sending me a PM with your email address included.
The problem with the added segment is that it will incorrectly tell wazers to turn left from southbound S. Tryon into the parking lot, which is not possible. The parking lot is only accessible from northbound S. Tryon. (That’s why I left the parking lot road detached.)
Actually, if you check the turn restriction from Tryon to the PLR (and vice versa), you’ll see that the left turn is prohibited, so Waze will not route through there, but will turn the user around and have them turn right into the parking lot.
