Will this cause any issues with wayfinders that were added last summer when BC was made “more liberal” and we lost instructions where we had them before?
I don’t anticipate losing any instructions, we may get more where there currently is BC.
In rare cases you may lose an instruction, but it would be a very small subset of cases.
But I think I’ve seen the bug you are referring to… is that perhaps where the only match is the road type and it pushes BC through a “stay” movement rather than the straight-through that is a 0-degree move? We had a bad one up in Lancaster.
California drivers are dumb and want an instruction when the road name changes even if they are going straight… imagine the confusion this created with no name matches, but BC was on the “Stay to the right” (which was really very close to being more appropriate as “turn”)
Together with the segment based uturn instructions.
I guess nobody reads the app update description
But i’ve posted several times about this but a lot of people don’t see the value and see it as a map hack and waiting desperately for the junction boxes.
If you look in the Playstore it says improved support for uturn in 3.9.4. In the beta release this was a bit more highlighted but i think i can’t share that here. There a thread on it in centrecode.
But no guidelines or wiki yet.
When it was released people’s discussion focused on the dead end uturns and nobody checked this.
I saw potential for the UAE and Thailand and did several test at a private area and found the forementioned.
But we’re going a bit off topic here…
I’d love to see it implemented by JAI so i can give it another colour!
Well, u-turns were enabled, but did not know that segments angles are now taken into account on this. Of course, if there are known angles, please add them to JAI.
