Seattle Tacoma International Airport

When I search for directions to Seattle Tacoma International Airport from Seattle, there are three routes offered. All are valid routes until you come near the destination.

Most drivers going to SeaTac are looking to go to the Arrivals or Departures area of the Terminal. But the Waze map takes the driver off the correct route to an Employee Only / Restricted Access entrance on surface streets. I have tried to edit the map to indicate this Waze route is incorrect, but I failed.

On close inspection, I am starting think the problem is caused by the fact that the Destination (the black and white checkered flag) is in the middle of the airport apron (aka the ‘airport tarmac’, the paved area where airplanes park, load, unload, etc.).

So… Two requests:

  1. Can we move the Destination to the actual Terminal where drivers go to pick up or drop off travelers?
  2. Can we direct Wazers to remain on the freeway (called Airport Expressway on the Waze map) and STOP directing Wazers to take Air Cargo Road?

Bonus: It was also be helpful to add a couple of Destinations

  • one for returning rental cars and
  • one for the airport parking garage.

Thanks!

Hey there, welcome to Waze editing.

Yeah, we get complaints all the time. Google’s end point is for the center of the runways and they refuse to move it. They provide their own end points for their maps but when they export to third party services, like Waze, they refuse to give the proper coordinates. Please search for and use the Waze pin point for Seatac Airport in the future. We also already have the airport parking garage and rental car returns already on the map as well.

And we have all the pickup/dropoff zones - stuff like “American Airlines Departure” and so on.
