Was going crazy trying to figure out why this function didn’t work between me and my friends that were logged in and traveling, until I ran across a note somewhere in the documentation which said something like "Note: this function will not work while the recipient of the message or beep is traveling (in motion) so as not to distract the driver. My question is: How is this (message not displaying) any different from the pop-up messages (warnings of police, traffic, accidents, etc.)that other drivers or Waze sends and displays. Are you saying those will not distract the driver? Can’t imaging that’s what you mean! So why restrict the function?
Beep never works for me!
Supposedly it isn’t sent when the other person is in motion. Not sure that’s been confirmed anywhere.
My sister just got an Android and I helped her set up Waze on it.
We were both standing in the driveway and I tried to send a Beep Beep because I honestly had no idea what that would do… well, it did nothing. Neither of us were moving at the time.
When one is received, and you don’t have Waze muted, it makes horn honk sound and displays a popup.
It doesn’t work very well. And also I have received messages while in motion. So, who knows what’s up…
I got the beep while in motion, and then noticed some icon on the right side of the screen. I tried to find out where is the Wazer who sent it, but there weren’t Wazers or it was too close to me so the server didn’t show it.
It’s stopped working for me. I hasn’t worked with the latest beta for me.
I’m not having any problems with the latest beta for Android.
I got 2 beeps while driving on the highway (a little honk icon was displayed on the side of my phone’s screen). It was very distracting, especially since I got my iphone connected to the car speakers. I had wazers around but didn’t know where the beep was coming from. I really think this function should be removed, it can cause an accident.
How can I see previous ‘honks’?
