what is the correct way to set the labeled “work” destination so it will be labeled “work” like the “home” is labeled in “drive to” directory? i don’t remember how or when exactly, but was asked automatically to set up “home” sometime during the first couple of days of using waze.
i found this as a feature listed in a table in some of the online documentation, but am not sure how to set my work as a favorite nor how to get a destination easily into favorites.
"1 Routing Shortcut favourite destinations to Home and Work "
i often see references to tap the small blue arrow to the right of locations after they are returned from a search, but it doesn’t seem to do anything different than just tapping the whole location name. i usually just get routed to that destination. it would be nice to edit locations just by tapping that little blue arrow in order to label and add search results to any class, ie home, work, etc.
sorry if this is a duplicate post, but i was not able to find anything by searching for “work” in the forums
I used the map, found my work and home locations, and tapped the screen to drop a pin and then saved the location. Under Drive-To, then select Saved Locations, and find the locations you saved. You don’t want to navigate to it, you want to update/edit (not sure what phone you have; on the iPhone there is a > submenu for each saved location) and then add it to your favorites. When you name it, name them “Work” and “Home” and then these will appear at the top of your Drive To menu.
thanks guess I’m just clumsy I finally was able to get the > submenu to work. It seems very sensitive to touch location am i missing something concerning that? and yes I’m on an iPhone thanks again all the best
I have a Motorola Triumph and am unable to manual set up a home, work or favorite
I was able to set up my Home only when at home and touching the map. If I enter all the info I do not get the search bottom, the entire screen is blue, any suggestions?
I have yet to set up “home” and “work” destinations. For two reasons.
I disagree with having to tell this software about these two places. It is awesome enough in so many other ways, I am not going to coddle it in this way. It knows my top n places, it will choose when to designate them as such.
“Home” and “work” are bad labels, worse so that they are hardcoded to those strings. If they were editable, I might do the teaching thing mentioned in the above post.
I would suggest that they be called “dest 1” and “dest 2” and “dest 3” up to however many I have said that I care about. Let me choose an option called, “display top n destinations”, with the default set to 2. I am pretty sure that waze knows my top 100 destinations already.
I found that when I clicked on the “Navigate” button, it listed Work and Home, and by clicking on them you could then configure your Work and Home address.
After I set up the home and all my favorite places, what I have to do to retain them? I’ve completely lost my places for the third time! This is a good application, very useful but it makes you belive that your settings are safe and they aren’t. This small error is so annoying!!
