Shift + Control (ctrl) + Select polygon misaligned

Is this a…:
Standard bug
Steps to reproduce this issue:
I often open WME into new windows repeatedly after following links. I heavily rely on the keyboard shortcuts Shift + Control (ctrl) to click and drag the selection polygon around segments to select them. Randomly, the + cross and the bottom right of the selection polygon are misaligned, making it difficult to select segments.

I cannot reliably reproduce the bug beyond opening new WME windows from hyperlinks and waiting for it to occur. It might happen every 10-15th window for me.

Hi @LostInMyMaps,

Thank you for your input!
The issue is tricky indeed, I haven’t been able to reproduce it yet. It might be hard to prioritize it unless we find a consistent pattern, so if you manage to get to the offending factor, please let me know. I’ll now have quite a few opportunities to use the multi-select function, so I’ll try to pay more attention to the cursor.

Take care,
Olesya

Just keep refreshing the page until it occurs. That’s the best I can offer sorry. It’s been ongoing for about a month now and keeps appearing. When I refresh the page, it disappears again.

Okay, I refreshed my browser 50 times and couldn’t replicate it. I opened WME 20 times from external website and couldn’t replicate it either.

Many thanks for the update @LostInMyMaps! I’ve tried multiple times and couldn’t get this behavior either. I’ll mark this bug as unable to reproduce, but if you come across the issue again, please let me know.

All the best,
Olesya

That’s the thing, the many people I have spoken to about this encounter it often, at least 1-2 times a day. I’ve had it myself about 30 mins ago. It is a bug, it does exist, we just can’t reliably reproduce it.

Hi @LostInMyMaps,
Sure, this can be looked into as long as we have some steps to reproduce. It has to be a bit more specific to ensure that the issue can be properly triaged.
What operating system are you using? I haven’t tried that on Wondows yet.

Best,
Olesya

Windows 11 on Chrome 143.0.7499.41 (Official Build) (64-bit). I’ve found it happens mainly when I am opening a hyperlink from another location/platform (e.g. another website or Discord).

Thank you @LostInMyMaps, I’ll try that on Win 11, and, if that alone doesn’t produce the issue, I’ll try Win 11 + another website.
