These ign-edited segments need the state set to NJ instead of Other.
Done.
Also updated these which were also Other.
And these which were set to New York.
These were set to NY, NY.
Thanks. NY is smudged all over NJ. I’ve been slowly chipping away at it.
Alabama also popped up in the drop-down, but I couldn’t locate the segment causing it.
There is something nefarious going on with Alabama, I fear. New segments created ANYWHERE that I have tried in Colorado first default to Alabama.

Unintended consequences of a restriction added to avoid a previous problem.
By default, the state field used to default to blank. This is shown in Papyrus as state=Other. That was causing all these city-name, other smudges, so they changed it where blank was no longer an option.
BUT, if there was a segment with no state info, it now defaulted to the first item in the drop down list for state. Which is Alabama. And if an editor isn’t paying attention, it gets saved that way.
So now instead of Other smudges, we have Alabama smudges.
