I currently have Level 1 editing, and am making simple adjustments to my neighbourhood (merging nodes, correcting allowable turns, making cul-de-sacs u-turn allowable, etc), but there is an entire neighbourhood that is locked at level 5.

If possible, I’d like the entire area for the first Permalink below lowered to at least level 3, but preferably 1 as I have not yet reached level 3.

je présume que tu es francophone, dsl si je me trompe, tu peux faire une sélection multible avec le touche CTRL
You can do multiple selectrion by holding the “Ctrl” Key so that group edits will be made but be carefull since it could delete some details that dosen’t fit them all

I did make a general selection of your area that seem locked for no obvious reasons but it will be at the judgement of the ones at lvl 5 to unlock them att at lvl 1

I would have gladly posted the specific changes I was wanting to do, but there are so many, the list would have been several pages long. The segments I listed are only a short list of discrepencies that I’ve noticed in my neighbourhood.

As you can see, an entire area has been completely locked down, and the affected region is quite extensive… I was not fully successful in highlighting all the affected segments.

Merci pour les conseils sur les modifications, j’ai déjà commencé à les mettre à bon usage.

Sa m’aurais fais plaisire d’affiché les changements précis je voulais faire, mais il y en a tellement, la liste aurait été de plusieurs pages. Les segments que j’ai énumérés sont seulement une courte liste de discordances que j’ai remarqué dans mon quartier.

Au-dessus des segments que vous avez fusionnée dans votre lien, voici d’autres que j’ai remarqué qui sont de niveau 5 pour ce qui semble être sans raison valable:

Comme vous pouvez le voir, une zone entière a été complètement verrouillé, et la région touchée est très vaste … Je n’ai pas complètement réussi à mettre en évidence tous les segments concernés.

true then 10 to 20% of the montreal area is locked lvl 5, but some really require the lock and dosen’t seem so, and for the map… it still got loads of stuff to update and some tools are hidden but give loads of information on what need more to be edited, then trying to find something around.
(true new streets are build and aren’t mapped and the maps needs loads of edits outside the urban area)

u will not need to search for easy edits in your area and gather a few points / edits

dont forget to add the province/city/road name or check if none
the one just west of it is just enouf, we need to set the most used to move around the parking, otherwise they can find the entrance of the drive-true / and get a parking slot (yep someone did maps all the slots in a supermarket !!)

Some background on the Level 5 locks:

In the past (i.e. until about 2 months ago), there was only one box for locking – like landmarks still, it was either locked or unlocked.

If locked, it followed the last editor’s level. So, as an editor progressed through the ranks, a segment they locked when they were a Level 1, would become 3, 4, 5 as time went on.

So, there are a bunch of segments that us higher-level editors locked when we were new editors that inherited our lock level when the new feature was implemented.

When I’m back at a real computer, I’ll unlock these – the blanket locks all over parts of QC are irking me a little.

I’ve unlocked all of the “Streets” in the area to Level 1.

I double checked your other links and they were included in my mass unlock. Please let me know if I’ve missed any (by the way… if you give me “view” links like the first one, but zoom in one more level, it’s really easy for me to mass change the locks…)

I’m finding more and more sectors in Longueuil with level 5 street locks.

After reading your explanation on why these segments are locked and how you mass unlocked them… would it be easier for me to just post permalinks of the general area affected, or would you rather I highlight all the affected segments?

I’m only unlocking “Street” type roads – I’m leaving Primary Streets, Highways and Freeways in whatever state they’re in.

I’ve taken care of the three links you gave (note “zoom=4” in there) – the last one would mean trying to pan around and figure it out… and those other three should give you plenty to work from. :slight_smile:

hi blipadouzi,

u can specify that u are an area manager “LVL 3”
so that way it dosen’t lose all the value of the lock even if theirs loads of errors… it let u work whit in the area

and its a goon idea to strat new thread once the actual unlock / corrections are made on the current one, it easyer to follow for dortorkb or any cm that use the forum

I already am a Level 3 Area Manager for the majority of Longueuil, I am working on adding my editing information to my signature. I just have to figure out where to pull the Lvl3 icons from :lol:

I had thought about creating a new thread, but then I thought that it was pretty much the same area and I didn’t want to clutter up the board with multiple requests for the same region. I will be more vigilent in the future.
