Average speed cameras were activated for the first time in Iceland at the beginning of 2022.
The new cameras are intended as a permanent feature and will measure the average speed of vehicles between devices.
The cameras are on:
- Grindavikurvegur (43), between the Blue Lagoon and Grindavík, on the Reykjanes peninsula
- Norðfjarðarvegur (92) in the Norðfjarðargöng tunnel in East Iceland
All roads in Waze inside and outside the cities have a speed limit.
You can report from the APP if you find a wrong limit or any others mistakes.
