Taking the ferry

Hi,

Waze is one of my favorite apps. I use it and talk it up every day.

I live on Long Island and occaisionally, the best route to New England is via one of the ferry services here. Apple and Google maps recognize this, but Waze doesn’t. Even when I was at Orient Point (the northeastern tip of the island) and asked for directions to Rhode Island, it still wanted me to drive all the way back to NYC and hang a right turn.

We all know that there can be no driver tips given for the ferry portion of the trip, but very often it is still the best way to go…or at the very least, it’s an option.

Thoughts?

My understanding is that ferries from Long Island have not been added because of issues like set forth here: https://www.waze.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=276&t=81265&p=697393

However, I’ve only heard of such problems with regard to Long Island. Other areas have ferries mapped with some success. I’m not sure what the best course of action is or why the Long Island ferry routes when mapped would give such odd results.
