Tamar's New Status and a Welcome Post

Hi Everyone,

Hope you’re all well.

I’m reaching out with some exciting news, to let you know that our beloved Tamar gave birth to a beautiful baby wazer earlier this week. It happened a little earlier than expected but I’m happy to update that everyone is healthy and well.

While Tamar is out on maternity leave I’d like to take this opportunity to introduce Brett, our newest team member, who will be supporting the APAC communities during Tamar’s absence.

Brett is still learning the ropes so please be kind to him and teach him as much as possible. And of course, I’m still around so please do include me in your conversations so I can help support Brett in his new role.

Please join me in congratulating Tamar and giving Brett a very warm welcome

Thanks Dana and hi everyone,

Thanks for welcoming me into the Waze community! I’m excited to get to know each of you.

I’m originally from Chicago, and lived there until I moved to Israel about 4.5 years ago to study Archaeology at Tel Aviv University. My family was all originally from Chicago, but now are all spread out across the US. I, personally, have vowed never to live in the snow again.

Before moving to Israel, I worked for 8+ years in the nonprofit education field, where I planned and managed campaigns and ran events and conferences. I also functioned as a community manager for college students on campuses across the US and Canada involved in community service. Since moving to Israel, I spent my first two years here digging in the dirt around the country, and once I had my fill (pun intended), I’ve been trying to find the right place for my eclectic experience. Over the past few years I’ve worked in international relations, music/course production, and content creation/editing, and I’m happy to have finally found a place at Waze that appreciates my diverse experience.

Waze has played a pretty big role in my life. From navigating me across the continental US between 100+ college campuses, to being lost in the Israeli Desert on an archaeological expedition, Waze has been my go-to resource to get the best route and the most up-to-date information about the road ahead. I’m excited to share my passion for exploration with the Waze editors community, and hope we can geek out together and take it to new heights!

If you need anything, don’t hesitate to reach out to me directly at cohenbrett@waze.com. If you’ve sent anything to Tamar in the past couple of days and didn’t get a response, kindly forward it to me and Dana and we’ll make sure you’re taken care of.
