Are you sure it was that exact segment? It’s working fine and saying trail when I test it. What was the full prompt was it a right turn left turn etcetera?

Yes, it was that exact segment. It was a left turn. Maybe connection issues on my phone? I’ll get this instruction again in the field and will see what happens.
Thanks, make sure to first your cache first (cc@tts)

Sorry if this has been discussed/posted before.
I have looked over the standard suffix abbreviations page and am left with a question: should numbered street names which appear on signs as letters be named with a number? Example: 11th Ave in Springettsbury PA (York). In WME url=https://www.waze.com/editor/?env=usa&lon=-76.70443&lat=39.98135&layers=2853&zoom=5&segments=42175248,42179809,42181528,42193959[/url] it is given the digit name instead of the lettering.

This isn’t really a TTS question both options “Eleventh” and “11th” will be spoken the same by TTS. However for uniformity, simplicity, and the smaller space on the screen it uses, we prefer the numerical digits when the sign is spelled out.

“Perrylawn” is pronounced “Pairalawn”. I think the second syllable should be pronounced “ee”

I always hear it with the “ee,” maybe that’s the only way my ears will hear it.

I hear that too, FWIW.
Hannah St in Bloomington, IL. Han should be as in “Hand,” is pronounced as in “HaHa”
Diana Ave, is being pronounced with a short ‘i’… it should be a long ‘i’ - “eye”

what does ready to submit mean on the wiki list?

It means we have diagnosed the issue and the fix but are waiting for the backlog to clear for that type of issue before submitting new ones. Most pronunciation issues get sent to the vendor for fixing, so we send a batch, wait for results before sending more.

Really? I thought we followed whatever street signs said. 11 vs 11th seems like NBD for real estate, and “eleven avenue” sounds awkward to me.

We definitely add ordinals to digits for proper TTS (11th). Whether to convert words to digits I remember being told to, but I guess it may be up to regional preference.

Secaucus is pronounced correctly when it is at the end of the segment name, (se-CAW-cuss, segment on the upper right), but mispronounced when there is text following (se-CAW-keez, segment on lower left connecting to eastbound local lanes).
I just got a report that CH-ID in Wisconsin pronounces as County Highway Idaho, instead of County Highway Eye Dee.

That seems to fit the rules for abbreviations
How are WI CH names generated?

I’m not sure I understand what you’re asking. The CH names are what the county names them.
I can change this road to put the ID in single quotes if need be as a workaround, but I thought we could have things specified if it came after a hyphen. So that -ID would be Eye Dee and just ID would still be Idaho.
