That windscreen thing - what's it for again? ;)

Just got this UR:

Dangerous?!!

The person who raised this particular UR may be a p**t.

However there is a problem here. “Channel Tunnel” is not an unreasonable destination to put into Waze, and Waze ought to navigate to somewhere sensible like the entrance gate for “Le Shuttle”.

But having decided that “Channel Tunnel” (presumably a point obtained from Google) is in the middle of the sea, Waze then says “could not locate end point”, presumably because there’s no mapped road anywhere near it.

I’m not sure how the map can be edited to improve this. There is currently a “Channel Tunnel” railway on the map ending under a cliff between Folkestone and Dover. Perhaps extending this to the point which Waze thinks is “Channel Tunnel” would be the answer? And on this one occasion, I think it would be legitimate to link a road in the vicinity of the terminal to the railway; after all you are supposed to drive onto the train.

Agreed - Google have a Place for “Eurotunnel” - I sent in a report to Google asking them to move it to the public building north west of where it currently is and to add an additional “Channel Tunnel” name. Wasn’t sure whether it was worth adding a place to Waze’s map?

It’s not a new problem: https://www.waze.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=81044
