Hi there. If you find cams that are for surveillance and appear as speed cams or traffic light cams please post a permalink here so we can delete them.
Also if you see a real speed cam that does not appear on the Waze please open a UR or add a permalink here and we will add it.
In the past some map vandalism and point harvesting happened in Jordan by non-local editors who found a part of the map that was not supervised by GC’s and local Country managers and found the opportunity to add or delete or damage a lot of elements of the map. Nowadays…this is not the case for Jordan anymore and the map has improved a lot during the last 2 years.
Over the past six months I have removed many of the ‘suspect’ speed cameras around Amman. I have generally left cameras which I have personally seen or were approved by Level 3+ editors in the past. I generally don’t drive around Northern Amman so I can’t confirm if the cameras in that region are actual speed/redlight cameras.
There are very often mobile speed cameras on the Airport Rd which are usually located between Petra University and Ikea. I always report these as ‘police’ so hopefully Waze users will get the message.
What segment do you mean? If you mean those where I added speed cam, I would like to move them according to GPS points (I am always trying to fix those when I am doing something in the neighbourhood), but it is L4, so I cannot do it…
Oh yes, I remember reading that in Wazeopedia in the past. I have adjusted several roads in the area, but I still would like to move that mR a little bit :D… Nevermind, thanks for checking.
