Two Different Spellings Of The Same Town Name

Chaps

As you can see from this link:- https://world.waze.com/editor/?lon=-2.76499&lat=53.54396&zoom=1&layers=TBFTFFTTTTTTTFTFTFTFTTTTFT - the town of Skelmersdale is spelt two different ways. Incorrectly, as “Skelmesdale” and correctly as “Skelmersdale”.

I’m assuming as a level 2 editor, I can’t make whatever global change is necessary to correct this? Can someone who knows how to - correct this, please?

Many Thanks

adam

As far as I can see, there are only 3 with the wrong spelling and I have corrected them. I will look for any others.

Thank you.

I only noticed it when adding or amending road names, Waze offers me two spellings of the town name.

I think this must be because someone has misspelt it when creating or amending a road so I wasn’t sure if there was a global way of updating road names to eradicate the erroneous ones?

Yes, someone added it erroneously. There are two main ways of getting rid of bad city names - either by hand (ok for small cities) or via Waze themselves. Once the segments are renamed it may take a while before the bad city is removed from the drop-down menu. The country admins have a list of large bad cities which we work with Waze to remove. It may not be Waze’s highest priority though.

No, absolutely.

As per - thanks loads for your help.
