Good morning folks.
I’m trying to add a back lane behind my house that I use daily. I recall having added it about 6 or 7 years ago when I first started using Waze (eating up the PacMan style dots as I drove over it), but now that I’ve started using Waze again after a several year hiatus, I see the back lane isn’t there anymore nor can I add it in (“That change isn’t allowed at this time and won’t be sent for review”). The back lane is present in Apple Maps and Google Maps without any action on my part, so the map data is undoubtedly there somewhere.
The back lane is in Winnipeg, parallel to and between Rue Aubert and Rue la Verendrye, and connected on either end to Rue Saint Joseph and Rue Langevin.
What can I do to add this, or alternatively can somebody with a higher editing rank than I have please add it?
Thank you!
Welcome back and finding the forums.
A while back, probably just after you went on hiatus the community decided to remove alleyways to simplify the map.
That has since changed, within the past two years, and we are now keeping/adding back alleyways as they do provide value to the drive.
In this paricular case you couldn’t connect the alleyway as the streets were lock to level2 - (while primary streets we do standardise on level2, most streets aren’t typically uplocked)
I’ve added your particular alleyway there, it will be reflected in the app within the next few days - while we’d like to have all the alleyways mapped, as volunteers, it just comes down to availability of time. (also the snowy imagery doesn’t make things really easy)
Thank you very much, Bryce!
I really appreciate the fast reply and you adding it in for me.
Have a great day!
