I many times face road closures as an Uber driver and I am keen to report these closures to avoid that others face the same issue. When the screen with the arrows is displayed to select the road that ids closed, it is excessively difficult to click on them. It takes up to 15 taps to get the arrow to highlight and if you do it too fast, you un-select the road straight after selecting it - unfortunately, unselecting the road only takes a single tap every single time…
Is this a known issue? if not, how can this be prioritised for fixing as it is unsafe to give that much attention to a screen while driving.
When you report a closure you should see a “later” option in the bottom left corner. This will allow you to finish the report next time you stop. You get about 10 seconds before the screen closes.
Another option is to make a “general map issue” report. You can leave this blank (so no typing while driving) and provide more detail as soon as you are able. Reports can also be started and finished later before submitting but I have had varied success with this.
Now, if you are using CarPlay (and probably Android Auto) your reporting options are more limited than the app and unfortunately there is nothing that can be done about this.
I’ve had the same problem for a number of months now: when I bring up the screen on my iPhone to report a closed road, tapping the arrows seems to do nothing, whatsoever. This used to work fine, so it seems like it’s a bug in Waze.
The alternate reporting suggestions–while appreciated–are not ideal, because in addition to simply reporting a closed road to help others, the act of reporting a road closure reroutes you, which is obviously something that is needed in the moment, and not later when you’re at your computer reporting a closure.
Love Waze so much, but this seems like a bug that needs fixing.
