Reason: My neighborhood’s private driveway segments were all wrong. I was wondering why delivery people were coming to my segment to deliver stuff to the houses they couldn’t reach from me. I realized that their entrance was missing, and their segment was mistakenly marked as a continuation of our segment for over a decade! Fixed/created the ones I can as Level 2 including the creation of two missing segments that were covered by trees in the satellite image. So, all that works. However, I couldn’t connect the main road (E Lake Sammamish Pkwy SE) to the new entrance road to the new private driveway road. As such, those 4 houses cannot be turned into. I hope a Level 3+ will create the needed junction to the entrance. Thanks.
Unlock to level: I am Level 2. Or, you can make the edit to connect E Lk Samm Pkwy SE to the private driveway which I had also marked as an area on Dec 22 2022, and had put similar comments into.
Technically those private roads essentially belong to King County of WA, not the homeowners, and are there to provide access to the houses from the main E Lk Sammamish Pkwy SE. The house numbers are on E Lk Samm Pkwy SE, not on these private/county access roads.
Please remove the address from Waze and search again. If it’s your home setting, remove it from there as well. If that looks like it works, please mark the topic as solved.
I did one better. I am assuming the Live Map on waze.com always reflects the latest, even before the tile propagation for the apps. So, I used that Live Map to route to one of my neighbors. I don’t have his address as a saved location and I never routed myself to him, therefore it is not in my history. The link points to a screenshot of what I got routed to vs where his house actually is located.
If I had enough rights to update the house numbers in just my neighborhood and had a set of instructions to do that safely, I could easily fix up all the dozen or so houses around me.
Unfortunately, that’s not always true. The web-based “Live Map” has a tile update process all it’s own. Things on segments (like house numbers) don’t always get updated there right away.
Places, including Residential Point Places, have their own database separate from the map tiles, by the way. New places and changes to existing places, as long as they’re not pending approval due to lock level, go live usually within hours.
