This UR. It’s not easy to interpret the route data - I think some recalculation was done before the UR was submitted.
The user turned into a side-road while travelling to somewhere else and instead of suggesting a U-turn to get back out, Waze advised using a private road to get out of the area. I don’t think I can test this without actually driving the route.
As I understand it, this is correct, though not ideal, behaviour for Waze. I think that U turns are not offered in the UK so as soon as the user turns into the side-road waze calculates the only through route possible - i.e. via the private road. I also think that if the user had stopped at the end of the dead-end and asked for a fresh route to be calculated, waze would have correctly taken the user back out the way they came in.
Any thoughts on:
- Am I correct in my thoughts above (before I respond to the UR).
- Can one make any changes to the map to help? (Maybe enable U-turn at the junction before the dead-end?)
Thanks
David
