VA - wrong directions to his home address

Hi there,
We’ve received a map update request to Waze support and we’re posting here on the user’s behalf. The link to this post will be forwarded for the user to follow up.

This is the user’s request:
STATE: VA
CITY: Great Falls
PERMALINK: https://www.waze.com/en/live-map/directions/us/va/great-falls/1007-sherman-ct?dir_first=poi&place=ChIJ4bRtfwc3tokRpdKF-jNfTKY
REQUEST TYPE: Wrong Direction
The user’s request content

This app always navigates to my home, 1007 Sherman Ct, Great Falls VA, 22066, up someone else’s driveway behind our house. This is problematic as deliveries often can’t find our home. I’ve attached a photo of the correct entry which is via main roads, Sherman Ct via Jordan and Seneca. Please help, thanks!

Thanks,
The Waze Support team

The app is giving correct navigation directions when this user’s address is typed in the Waze search bar.

The user should note that (a) the live map at https://www.waze.com/en/live-map/ does not always give the same directions as the app, and should not be relied upon, and (b) setting a destination in the app by any method other than typing the address in the search bar may not yield accurate results (for example, among others, using your phone’s voice search function, linking to an address in a calendar invitation, or obtaining a destination from a third-party app).

At this point, the user should remove their home address from their app by (a) removing it from the list of recent drives and (b) removing the Home saved place; then type the address in the search bar and save that as their Home location.

To add to Russblau’s information above:

Please remove any instance of this address from your history and Saved places by the following: https://support.google.com/waze/answer/6262570?hl=en.
Then, perform a new search and resave. If you don’t remove the old results from your navigation or Saved places/Home/Work, then you will continue to be routed to the old coordinates.
Please submit another report if this does not resolve your issue. Thanks!
