Waze support map update request: Wrong Direction, Virginia

Hi,We’ve received a map update request to Waze support and we’re posting here on the user’s behalf. The link to this post will be forwarded for the user to follow up.This is the user’s request:State: VACity: MartinsvillePermalink: https://ul.waze.com/ul?place=ChIJcaYRdNmRUogRvUSRMTo6sP0&ll=36.64111580%2C-79.91474450&navigate=yes&utm_campaign=default&utm_source=waze_website&utm_medium=lm_share_locationRequest type:

  • Wrong Direction

The user’s request content: User reported that Waze is providing an incorrect route to their home address. Per user, he was routed at the back of the user’s actual home address which is a dead end. User added that when he leaves from his home address which is 412 Sedgefield Drive the user can either turn right or left in Sedgefield Drive to reach State Route 5 and do not need to go around Kenmore Avenue. USer also mentioned that his address is not located in the community of Horsepasture Thanks,The Waze Support team

The address point for the user’s destination has been updated, but it may take a day or two for the search index to catch up to this change. The user should remove any instance of this destination from their history and/or Saved Places (e.g., Home) by swiping or long-tapping the destination and then ‘Remove’. Then search for the location in the Waze app. If you don’t use the Waze search bar, you may receive incorrect coordinates from a third-party source. If you don’t remove the old results from your navigation or Saved Places, you will continue to be routed to the old coordinates.

Note that the user does reside in the Horsepasture community as defined by the U.S. Census Bureau, which may be different from their Postal Service address. However, the fact that this label appears on the map has no effect on Waze routing.
