I was somewhat wondering if the local editors would like to do an informal meetup or gathering in the Ventura, Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, and San Bernardino county area (and of course anybody else that would like to travel.)
I have no venue lined up, but maybe somebody might know of a good place for us to bring our laptops and go over things and answer questions.
The first open weekend (Saturday) for me is August 2nd.
So is there any interest?
Depending on what I am doing in that timeframe, I might be interested in coming down from SJ.

Although I reside in AZ I have done a lot of editing in areas mentioned and with no objections would like to be a part of the meet up.
I also have family contacts in the Hotel Management business and if we had a specific date in mind I could request a conference room of a local hotel for our use at no cost.
August 2nd is what I suggested…

Have a good connection in Torrence, CA, not sure if that is convenient but there is a Double Tree and La Quinta in the Ontario area we can get some leverage on a conference room.
Guess we should take a vote on the location to narrow it down 
How far are they off the freeway? And are they both able to handle that date?
DoubleTree Ontario is just south of I-10 near Ontario Airport.
La Quinta Ontario is just north of I-10 near Ontario Airport.
Doubletree Torrence is on the 107, 4 miles from nearest Freeway.
The date should be fine this far out, what time works best?
So the Ontario seems better (easier for Freeway access.)

Not that this should hinge on me, by any means, but to be fair you did say, “first open date” is the 2nd. 
Unfortunately I have a commitment in the West Hollywood /Beverly Hills area that evening. If necessary, I’ll just have to leave “early”, whatever that may mean. If another date is possible for consideration, maybe throw it out there? (I know that may literally be the only day you have available, jemay ) Otherwise, I’ll just deal. Torrance and Ontario both sound fine with me

I am likely unable to come down that weekend, but definitely don’t change for me.
I should be available that weekend. I’m also only a 20 minute drive from Ontario, which makes that location even more inviting to me.
Ontario is fine with me, and I can handle the 2nd. Jemay, is that your only workable date? My hope is that as many of us as possible can be part of this.
I’d be happier with 11-5, but then I realize that my night owl nature is not for everyone, and I’m willing to be flexible.
