I am aware that the coastline has been imported and can sometimes throw up glitches that make it look as though roads are floating. I am also aware that place polygons and segments get simplified somewhat. Is there any way to overcome this error without drawing the shoreline of the loch further away from the road or covering the road with an island place :?:
I wish there was. I also edit in Jamaica and have had to use islands extensively to make the roads emerge from the sea, (also lakes to ensure the driver sees the sea that runs beside the road) but on the north coast, even that has now failed and the islands that I’ve added most recently (weeks, not months, ago) don’t appear on Live Map or in the app.
It looks to me as though the lakes you’ve edited haven’t updated on the map either, as the area places are well clear of the road, yet live map shows the road under water.
I’m wondering whether islands below a certain age are now ignored in the rendering of the land/sea border on Live Map. I’ve not seen any comment about this in the forum, as usage of the technique is probably not that common.

There are two possible issues in play here.
The first is genuine land/sea borders - something that we can’t see/edit in WME. And yes, these are pretty poor in places. We have been complaining to HQ about this for, literally, years. If you look at Whitstable, you’ll see a UR that’s over 2 years old and it still hasn’t been resolved.
The other issue is the livemap display. This currently hasn’t been updated for several weeks: if you’re relying on the livemap to see if the changes you made to the water place have helped, you may not see any difference. This issue was raised to Direct Access today by another Global Champ.
Is there a forum post/list/form/prayer we can use to add places where this occurs?
