Way to prevent Waze from saying turn right/left?

Hi,

Let’s say we have a road that curves round to the right.

There is also a side road, which is virtually straight on.

How do we prevent waze from saying turn right?

I would give a specific link, but need to redrive the estate to find where it is going wrong.

Essentially I am finding waze is telling me to turn right onto the same road that I am on, oh and then left whilst still on the same road!

is it to do with angles?

Can anyone point me in the right direction, so I can learn…

Yes, its all about angles.
If you use the junction angle info extension it will show you the instructions you will get.

I can’t get my brain to explain it simply but JAI does make it very simple to understand

I think I have that, as I am showing angles.

But driving through an estate I am given so many extra instructions.

Doesn’t help with Road name changes, even though you just turn a sharp bend.

Not sure how to get it to show you what instructions you would get.

Will search for instructions on using it.

A bit confused. Mind you it even today tried sending me via a road that I have closed as it is being built lol

The only frustrating thing is that where the road goes round a sharp bend and changes name, waze says turn right, whereas turning left and and staying on a road with the same name would have no instruction.

But can’t see anyway around that.

You need to have the main road following the curve of the road, and the side road join it at a tangent.
Then you won’t get any instruction.

I have done that, however I now have too short a segment. Can’t win LOL

Looks good - yes, with that layout you won’t get any instructions when driving these 3 segments

I did spot that the Sorrel Dr segment and a few others on the estate have elevation set but since they don’t bridge other roads can probably all be ground level. Minor thing, but elevation does show on the live map so worth fixing. These are the ones I’ve spotted.
