There is a UR on DC-295 S that requested a 'keep left" instruction be present when continuing south on I-295 past the split with I-695 W. After driving by last week I am inclined to agree as the freeway is basically split in half at the interchange.
Link to segments
I was thinking of using this split with wayfinder segments as a model. The 295 & 695 interchange is locked to rank 3 so I am able to edit it myself.
What do you all think?
On side note, the wayfinder segments in the split referenced above are 4 meters in length. Should they be increased to the suggested 5 meter minimum? They are locked at rank 4 though. (Northbound the wayfinders are 6 meters.)
Edit: Corrected the links.
Makes sense to me.
I increased those to 6 meters each, although I have no idea whether the “greater than 5 meters” is an urban legend, since I’ve never seen anyone complain about the routing at BW Pkwy/US 50.
Also, beware the “/#?” in copy-and-pasted URLs; it breaks WME. You need to delete the “#”.
Makes sense to me as well. Coming into that interchange from the other two directions give instructions in both directions.
The 5 meter requirement is based on a very recent statement by waze personnel that segments less than 5 meters can adversely affect the routing as it is difficult to get good speed data on segments shorter than 5 meters. Its clear that segments shorter than 5 meters don’t always cause problems, but waze seems to be planning to flag segments shorter that 5 meters for correction.
I have completed the modifications. If you have a chance, please check my work to ensure I didn’t flub anything.
