When I start my car, Apple CarPlay automatically starts. This is ok, but Waze automatically starts as well. Shutting Waze down takes several steps and is not safe when driving, so my battery and cellular time is used for the duration of each drive. Waze is my go-to navigation aid (when I need an aid) so I don’t want to just delete it from CarPlay. Is there any way to keep Waze from starting automatically? Thanks!
CarPlay automatically activates/starts the last navigation app you used in that car. If you open Apple Maps (or some other navigation app), it will automatically open that instead.
But the short answer is no, you cannot prevent CarPlay from opening/activating some kind of map app to display in the navigation panel.
