We live on a battle-axe block, along with two neighbours. We’ve only been here a couple of months but have already had three tradies call us to say they’ve been directed to the wrong street when they put in our address!
Our lot is technically closer to two other streets, it seems like Waze directs people to the closest street without prioritising the street that actually forms part of the address. To be clear, the only access is from the street that’s part of our address.
Is this something I can do in the editor and submit for review, or is this outside the scope of that?
The standard way waze works, it offloads search to Google Maps for 90% of addresses.
Google Maps only returns the coordinates, and Waze then has to route to closet segment.
If you provide the address, we can investigate how to improve the routing.
The address is 10 Kennedia Place, Mount Annan NSW 2567 Australia. Driving directions ideally should end in Kennedia Place, no other streets provide access to the property.
Thanks for getting back to us, I have added the driveway to 6, 8, 10 to the map, as well as adding the numbers directly into Waze.
These changes should reach the app in a few days to a week or so.
Visitors that previously searched for the address will get the coordinates cached in their app for a month or so, but the driveway should become the closest segment and that should improve the routing in a few days.
