Waze support map update request: Road type issue Alabama

Hi,

We’ve received a map update request to Waze support and we’re posting here on the user’s behalf. The link to this post will be forwarded for the user to follow up.

This is the user’s request:

The user’s request content: November 30, somewhere around 2-3pm I think, we were at 8500 Oakwood Lane, Andalusia, AL, headed for Troy, AL. I selected the route option that should have taken us on Hwy 29 through Brantley. Instead, Waze changed the route and took us out of Andalusia on Hwy 84 to Airport Road, then onto Parker Road (a DIRT ROAD), then Potter Road, to 331 and paved main roads from there. I have checked since and confirmed my settings were already marked NOT to use unpaved roads (Unpaved roads = Don’t allow).

Thanks for the post. At the time of your travel we did not have Parker Road marked as unpaved. The road has now been updated to reflect that it is unpaved in the App. Waze should not use it for future travels unless your destination is on Parker Road or Parker Road is the only way to reach your destination. Sorry for any inconvenience this might have caused.
