I could reply in this post https://www.waze.com/discuss/t/testseite/367884/2
Hey! Yes, you can upload images to the Wazeopedia beta.
Just a heads up that all the beta Wazeopedia content will be deleted once we have the final data migration.
Thanks!
I can still reply in this article.

Hey All,
Thank you for providing your feedback. We have reviewed it and have addressed a number of bugs based on your input.
Weâre preparing for another data migration, which will be on March 4th, 2025.
-
This data migration will create another edit revision to every imported post, importing the current Wazeopedia articles content.
-
It will ensure that edits youâve made to migrated articles are preserved, and changes will be reflected in the edit history.
-
New content youâve created will remain unchanged.
In addition, weâve addressed the following bug fixes reported by the community
- Image quality issues have been resolved.
- Images in table formatting have been corrected.
A note on this: Moderators and users with Trust Level 4 can reply to wiki posts.
This is a default Discourse setting that we canât change.
So, please be mindful and refrain from replying to posts yourself.
Thank you,
Shira
Hi @shirapashu.
Will we get a chance to edit the migrated posts before they go to the public? I just say that as a lot of migrated wiki pages are using Wiki templates and other things that will need to be fixed when it comes to Discuss.
Thanks,
Ed
Hey @DeviateFromThePlan,
During the beta phase, you can definitely test the new templates and see if theyâre working as intended.
This is the perfect time to experiment and give us feedback on any adjustments that might be needed.
However, we recommend holding off on final editing and making changes to the migrated posts until after the final migration is complete.
You can plan your changes to the articles based on this sheet with all the wiki articles.
Let me know if you have any other question,
Thanks,
Shira
Is there something like the Media Library in the current Wazeopedia in Discuss, where I can upload images? I canât find such an option in Discuss.
Hey @Fischenicher ,
You can upload images directly from your computer, or use other resources like the
Social media hub, external community deck
I hope that is helpful, if there is a need for more assets, let me know.
Thanks!
Hey All,
Following up on the Wazeopedia migration, see below more information:
- March 12th: Weâll perform the final data migration and lock Wazeopedia into read-only mode.
- Editing Groups:
- Weâll create new editing groups based on community requests. Please fill the form if you havenât already.
- Where relevant, weâll utilize existing Discuss groups.
- If no specific group is requested, coordinators will receive wiki editing permissions.
- Content Organization:
- Country Wiki Editing, coordinator, global champs groups will have one week to start organizing the data and ask to create categories.
- You can request specific text to be added to your countryâs banner.
- Communities needing more time can continue organizing after the initial week, we know itâs a process that needs time.
- Launch: After the one-week organization period, Wazeopedia in Discuss will be opened to âeveryone,â and the old Wazeopedia will redirect to the new wiki.
Please let me know if you have any questions,
Thank you,
Shira
Thanks Shira,
but I still have no idea how I can upload images to the Social Media Hub or the external community deck. In the previous Wazeopedia, which will no longer be usable from tomorrow as I learned, there is a media library. Is there something similar on Discuss? I can of course write a link to an image in the source code and the image will then be loaded. But this image has to be saved somewhere. Where exactly are images saved and how exactly can I upload images? You should be able to upload images within Discuss and the images should also be stored within Discuss. I canât find an option in Discuss.
Greetings, Stefan
Thanks, I didnât find this option when creating a new page. So I can upload images when editing an existing page (or answering to a post) but I canât upload an image when creating a page. Sounds a bit complicated for me.
In my opinion, the Wazeopedia loses the character of a Wazeopedia after moving to Discuss. Discuss is a forum software and not a wiki software, so you no longer have the convenience of a wiki.
-
The topics are simply sorted by edit date, with the most recently edited topics at the top, and there is no recognisable structure. This structure cannot be easily created by creating new categories.
-
The table of contents of the topics on a page used to be on the left, but in Discuss-Wazeopedia it is extremely distracting on the right. It disturbs the flow of reading when there is text on the right-hand side that has nothing to do with what you are currently reading.
-
The text area is also smaller in the new version than in the old one, so that tables could not be fully displayed. At least the problem with the tables has been fixed. EDIT: Seemed to be fixed, but isnât.
-
The name of the page can be changed, which was not possible with the old Wazeopedia; the name is also changed in the URL, which is a positive feature
-
The search is not limited to Wazeopedia and individual countries, a search for âjunction boxâ returns all Wazeopedia pages on junction boxes (from all countries) and also all pages in the forum (from all countries) in which âjunction boxâ appears.
Thatâs how I also feel that it wonât have a âwiki spiritâ
I hope I will have an impact on sorting and categorizing articles according to my rules.
Although this explains why I suddenly receive errors when trying to edit articles, I havenât seen any announcment on this. I found this thread by chance when looking where to report the issue with the Wazeopedia.
The sudden way is in my eyes disrupting any work on articles, not taking into account that Discuss is a very questionable tool for this purpose. A wiki is designed in a way to be a wiki, and using a forum for wiki purposes is not a good idea.
So I stop working on articles. Keep in mind, weâre volunteers.
Sorry staff, that was the worst way to do this.
Nicely described Fischenicher. Using Discuss as wiki platform is definitely no improvement. For Wikiâs with only a few pages guidelines it might be useable.
