This is not new but when I originally wrote this when it happened was on March 14, 2026 and twice Waze gave me routes that were nearing the end of my drive absolutely illogical and actually longer. Thankfully I know the areas so I ignored Waze and mostly use it for the bulk of the drive to know if there are any accidents.
Thing is, I’ve noticed the routing getting much worse. Waze has always had issues with re-routing and has the absurd hard-on to make me loop around to go back to the original route even though it’s longer than the way I took.
Today though, it wanted me to take routes that are longer and cause back tracking for no apparent reason. I don’t know what’s going on but Waze has become useless. I hated Google Maps but I am finding it to actually be much more reliable lately.
This is driving in and around the Greater Toronto Area. Is someone deliberately trying to sabotage Waze? Because if so, it’s working and if not, then something is seriously wrong and someone needs to fix the routing/navigation here.
