Hi,
Apologies if this is the wrong sub-forum. There are roadworks marked on the Waze map from Elgin for the past 90 days but they have never existed in real life.
I have even contacted Highways England and they confirmed the roadworks aren’t taking place as funding was cut for the project.

It shows on the map but I’m unable to remove it as it doesn’t show when I click edit. I am a level 1 editor.
Many thanks
Nick
Well this is the forum for asking map editors to do something, and (while editors can input or remove closures), we have no control over hazard reports (of which these Elgin reports are a form), so strictly speaking this is the wrong forum.
Elgin is neither a person nor a place in Scotland, but a feed of information from various local government sources (Electronic Local Government INformation). It is alleged that if you comment “not there” in the app, Elgin reports will disappear. Although people hitting the “thumbs up” in the app encourages them to stay longer, and this particular report has had 42 thumbs-up.

Yeah I did look up and read about Elgin. Lots of people comment saying there’s nothing there and then a few days later their comments disappear and the roadworks report stays there.
So is there no way to remove it manually?
Not that I’m aware of. UK CM’s have complained many times to Waze HQ about Elgin reports cluttering the map, both those that are past and those that were useless in the first place. I have the impression that there are fewer than there used to be, but maybe I’m just getting used to them.
Ian
Fair enough. Many thanks for your help anyway Ian.
