Do you mean ANY update, or one within 48 hrs from the last one?
ā desperately waiting for the next update⦠I put an incorrect turn restriction in a national road⦠It bugs me every time I pass it, at least 5 times a weekā¦ā
I mean that I think the next update will only partially solve the problems. Some things were issues, corrected in the map. Due to no update, in some places it WILL occur that somebody changes the map (which was already corrected) because of the map problems. So we need some updates short after each other. 24hrs would be nice, 48hrs is ok, 1 week means we lose more wazers again. Just as we are reaching critical mass, they let things spiral out of control. I have trouble keeping people on board that I know, let alone keep people on board that I donāt know.
Yes, true. But since the service and application is free, it doesnāt cost anything to try it again in the future. I originally installed, tried Waze and uninstalled the same day (Nov 2010). 6-7 months later I gave it another go and am now a supporter!
OK, nuance: as long as the App is installed on the iPhone they did not really quit. As long as the App is installed on the iPhone, users will be reminded of Waze every time an update is available at the AppStore. They will update and run it, curious to see if situation has improved. If it HAS improved (map more dense, Wazerspopulation grown visibly) they may be in; if it has NOT improved, chances are growing that they uninstall and forget about it.
This effect was not exploited to the max at the iPhone 3.0 release - re-activated users (typically babywazers with 8 months of experience) ran into many problems (that were not related to the iPhonerelease - just happened at the same time) and were lost before the week was over⦠so, I hope that the Android 3.0 is hold back long enough for the serversituation to stablize and that during that first, important week after a release like that the servers are tuned in such a way that services like pointcalculations and routing are not hampered by tilegeneration. Maybe tilegeneration should be put on hold the first 1-2 weeks after a major update?
So, what did you make a U-turn after 8 months, gettingthere?
I sincerely hope they first upgrade capacity and improve software, and only then even consider the update to version 3.0. And indeed: letās hope they donāt run the tile-generation for a bit, until they can make a good assessment if they could do it with all the new people on board.
Although I have to admit the routing is getting really great now!
Solely the search for better traffic data for my daily commute / general driving. I had abandoned since there did not seem to be enough Wazers to generate the traffic data. This has improved, especially since the launch of Waze 3 for iOS. Needs to grow more. I expect to see thousands of Wazers ānear you nowā.
But also since the release of iOS5, all users are reporting traffic data from iOS and not from Waze. Apple is already building a massive traffic flow history by having this on by default on everyoneās devices. This is anticipation of an Apple nav app.
Yes, although not sure what Apple has revealed about how often this data is being collected. Itās going to be interesting to see what Apple comes up with. There has been buzz about this for months / years and no Apple turn by turn, TTS enabled, traffic aware GPS application yet.
Hopefully Waze is working with Apple on this so Waze does not become irrelevant in the future. Donāt want to see all of our effort in improving Waze going to waste.
Hi everybody,
It looks like the international server (Iām in Germany) is currently having some trouble with points.
Today my scoreboard change like this:
Has anyone made similiar experiences, or am I the only one and and my score has really dropped back to 4 points?
