After this last update I’m listed in the WRONG STATE. And I show only the top 3.
Points seem to have go wrong… since your home state (unless hard coded by email support@waze.com) is based on where the server saw you drive the most, if points are messed up, it is very possible your home state is also.
– Don’t blame the messenger, trust me, I wish base functionality was working okay so us old timers could stop answering the same questions over and over.
Yea. Seems to be more concern about points than avoiding traffic!
So then if I do more driving in PA that would be the state to show up?
Correct. If everything was up to date, your ranking would be based in the state you did the most driving in that week. If you a roamer, or on a border where it would change back and forth a lot, I would suggest emailing support@waze.com and ask for them to set it permanently to one state.
Although I drive in both California and Mexico (considered a state in Waze scoreboard). I always drive more in California than I do in Mexico but from time to time my location changes to Mexico. So I don’t know that Waze actually is basing this on where you drive the most. I believe that there may be other factors such as the location that you drove last when the points process ran.
Or it is run only on every third full moon, that falls on an even numbered day ![]()
That wouldn’t surprise me
Does it matter which state shows up ?
Only to you and the other people in the two states.
Whichever state you are in at the time, is where you are ranked for local area.
Absolutely ! In my example I would much rather be in competition with the many active Wazers in California than the few in Mexico (esp. since Mexico is officially mapped on the World server but do to some ‘bugs’ those of us by the border are using the US/Canada infrastructure).
Also, if you are competitive you are watching your state scoreboard every minute, day, week to see where you rank compared to your competition. If you suddenly show up on another state’s list, it’s not directly comparable to your regular competitors. It’s a bummer when the points and ranks are not being calculated in a timely manner (as in now).
Yes, some of us take the points and ranks a bit too seriously
And Waze Mobile loves it since they are reaping the benefits of our hard work editing.
well im in the Uk.
No British towns or cities come up at all??? ![]()
