How many times have you been trying to solve turn permissions but street view is out of date or non-existent, but there might be a barrier?
…or trying to correct obviously errant geometry but tree overgrowth hides the actual road and GPS points data is inadequate?
…or there might be a one-way segment or entrance, but again street view isn’t helping out?
…or new construction is known to be complete but you have no road naming info?
…or… lol… you need speed limit data… and street view fails you yet again?
This feature change request would affect both WME and the App. I’d like to see a way for advanced (L3+ ?) editors be able to place “data requests” on the map that would be visible to advanced Wazers (“Warrior”+ ?) who choose to enable the feature, requesting feedback and specific situations.
Points could be awarded for Wazers who respond to these requests, their presentation on the map would not be unlike the “candies” that sometimes appear. A Wazer sees a data request icon on the map while driving (so they are already near the spot that an editor would like reviewed), they drive to that location and stop in a safe place, click on and open the icon, and see…
“Can drivers turn left (south) across Main Street from Wal Mart?”
“Is 38th Street one-way between Elm and Aspen?”
“Road geometry is incorrect, please run Pave while driving on Somerset from 126th Ave to 140th Ave.”
“Is the road construction of the new onramp from Parker to Hwy 52 southbound open yet?”
Responses could be text or photos. Editors would leave these open until resolved. Any response would generate some points for the effort, but the most helpful response could be tagged as such and earn a few more.
