This topic is intended to centralize all requests for registering, deleting, or modifying permanent alerts on the map.
Permanent alerts cover various types of warnings shown to drivers, such as speed cameras, speed bumps, and other similar elements.
As editing access levels can vary depending on the alert type, requests can be posted here so that other editors with the proper permissions can evaluate and apply the changes.
When making a request, please include:
-Alert type: (e.g., speed camera, complex intersection, etc.)
-Location permalink
-Additional information: (e.g., hours for a school zone alert)
I am listing the recommendations on what to do in each case below, but first, I would like to highlight two important observations for everyone’s awareness:
We still find old red light cameras on the map that are also registered as if they were speed cameras. It is essential to pay attention when creating new cameras: for the user, everything looks like a speed camera, but if it is at a signalized intersection, it might just be a red light camera. In other cases, we keep them as false if there is no Inmetro validation. I remind you that we have @GabiruX’s spreadsheet to help us with this control and identification of valid cameras.
The Inmetro website is sensitive to accents (accent-sensitive), meaning that if the searched term is not typed exactly as it was registered, including accents and spaces, it will not appear in the results. Consequently, a valid camera might end up going unnoticed.
Good afternoon, @cbzha!
Welcome to the forum!
I have moved your message to the relevant topic in the Ceará State forum.
Now, just provide the exact location of the radar.
Thank you
If there’s a cell signal at the location, you can mark a UR, which already helps as a reminder.
But if there’s no service.
In this case, you can activate a feature in Waze that shows the geographic coordinates of the location, and then you can take a screenshot to share later or, if you have the level to add a speed camera, do so.
To activate this feature, go to the address search field and type @@Coord
This will enable it, and you’ll see the coordinates at the top of the screen.
Could someone confirm if a traffic light was installed here and if the camera has become a red light and speed camera?
I passed by the location on 10/03/25 and there was no traffic light!
I’m not aware of any traffic light at this location.
I reviewed all the traffic lights on Pres. Castelo Branco Ave. and posted the ones I was unsure about on the forum, and Davi replied.
I didn’t notice that it was marked as having a traffic light at this location.
I had only made a location adjustment.
I’ve already removed the traffic light.
I found two speed cameras that are marked as deactivated on Waze, but are listed on the Inmetro website as installed and valid (if I’ve checked correctly.)
I noticed that two speed cameras appear on the map, but they were removed about a year ago. I checked in person and on the Inmetro instrument consultation website:
