Howdy,
I’ve been recently bestowed the prestigious title of Area Manger. I saw THESE nifty forum badges and saw one for Area Managers. For me, is the badge supposed to automagically appear or do I have to request it?

Check this Wiki Page Forum Signture Banners
& Congrats!
I think bugladen was referring the forum badges sported by some editors. Like theclem54 from Australia. A bunch of the Aussies have them.
I believe the forum badge is controlled by the Group Membership tab in your user control panel. You select which of your memberships you want to represent yourself.
If you confirm that is where you change it, I can add it to the Wiki for future users.
Thanks for getting back to me. I did check a few weeks ago the group membership boxes that were available to me. Unfortunately there is no “area manager” group I can check. Perhaps this is the root of the problem?
Ah. I see your profile does not say you are a member of any groups outside of registered users. Come to think of it, I am not sure I have seen a generic Area Manager group. You may need to send a message to Support to ask if there is one or if they would consider creating one.
Badges are available via forum rank, not group membership. @bugladen, you should address this through your country management, ie. country managers/champs.
Can you reread my earlier post in this thread? I believe you are referring to signature files not forum badges.

theclem54 is a member of the ‘Regional Managers Australia’ group, which is why they have that badge.
Presumably, if a country wants give AM badges to all their AMs, then they need to ask Waze to create a new group for them?
A full list of groups can be found here: https://www.waze.com/forum/ucp.php?i=167 (maybe)
Perhaps we should have a single, generic group for Area Managers?
Thanks for spelling out what I was implying. If there is a badge for AM, then there should probably be a group to enable it.
After some testing, I am incorrect. It is your default group membership which is controlling the avatar. Users can only have one. Any one who is a member of a group can change their default membership from the Usergroups tab in their forum control panel, exactly as @kentsmith9 wrote earlier. You must be a member of a group first. If you are not, you must request it or be granted it by your country management.
How do we create a new group (can us mods do it?) and should we have a generic group for AMs who don’t have a country AM group?
I created a group called “Area Managers USA” because you can also enable PMs to groups so I can foresee times when we might want to send a PM to all USA Area Managers to be sure they review a particular forum entry.
I left the group requiring approval so that we can have someone confirm the requestor is an area manager first. If any of the USA Champs team would like to be a leader on that group, just let me know, or if you are already a forum admin I believe you can add yourself as I believe you can have multiple leaders. If not I am happy to step down and have someone else lead.
We can also create a generic AM group and everyone can sign up for membership in that group who is already an AM in any other AM group.
This is pretty sweet, thanks kent!
No problem sir.

I added you manually. Others who come to this thread can join the group through the link Alan posted.
PM me if you don’t get the badge by the next day.
Sweet. Sending my request right now.
Thank you for the quick add. However, how do I get the badge to display? I’m not familiar with groups.

hmm there might be a “make primary group” somewhere in there.
I was looking for that. The registered user group button is grayed out and the only options I have from the drop down menu at the end of the screen are Join, Resign, and Demote.
I was hopping to select the registered group button and click on demote to promote the AM group. Hmm…
