Beacon program Transurban - Launch

Hey Everyone,

Slightly delayed, I am happy to update that we officially launched the Beacon Program in Transurban APL+Clem tunnels in Australia! :smiley:

If you’re not familiar with the program, beacons enable uninterrupted underground location services ensuring drivers never miss an in-tunnel exit, providing seamless navigation to drivers underground where GPS signal is not possible.

This installation was perhaps one of the most complicated we had due to the high number of merging ramps and the length of the tunnel, but the Australian community rockstars helped us make it a very successful one!

For anyone wondering APL is short for Airport Link.
I personally haven’t seen in abbreviated that way, but I am sure there are a lot of examples of abbreviations for roads that are known to be in the know.

So, is this going to be rolled-out to other tunnels across Australia?
Would really be useful in Sydney.
