Beverly/Mill Creek Area

Hi WV!

My sister uses Waze, does some editing, but nothing major. When it’s above her L1, I get to communicate the info. She drove the area below over last weekend – she was doing some work at the “OTR Site” place. She’s in this area several times a year and wanted to know if the Waze names could be corrected.

She talked to some locals and someone at the post office. The road labeled “Old Trail” has never been called that. There used to be a short street referred to as that, but it was named Carper Ln (https://www.waze.com/en-US/editor/?env=usa&lon=-79.88908&lat=38.78515&zoom=5&segments=55627393) some years ago (a 911 system installation mandated change).

The street sign shows Back Rd 38 (38 in a circle) at US-219; the post office recognizes the addresses along the road as “Back Rd #38”.

This is Back Road 37. CR-37 comes up Presbyterian Church Rd, travels southwest along Back Rd, turns right and goes north along what is labeled “Valley Bend Rd”. VB is signed Back Rd 37 at US-219, you can also see that in SV. My sister didn’t see any other signs for it, and nothing that said Valley Bend – although usps.com recognizes a street by that name, my sister did not ask about that one specifically, so I do not know if this VB Rd is the same. By the way, Valley Bend has a SL of 25 instead of the 35 entered (this can be seen in the SV at US-219)

This is Back Rd 39. My sister drove part of it, but not the full extent of the PL to the west.

No where does 37, 38 and 39 overlap/run concurrently.

Please let me know if there are questions, or what other info may be required.

Thanks and regards,
B.G.

This is all excellent information. I was going to start researching it a little to verify but then it hit me your sister should get the points for all of these edits she has worked so hard to verify. So, if she has edit area on the above I would be more than happy to downlock it all. WV also has a hangout we would love for her to join if she is willing. To join the hangout just click on the announcement link at the very top of the WV wiki. https://wazeopedia.waze.com/wiki/USA/West_Virginia

Thank you for the response, @roadtechie. She does have EA as she just drove it all (except for the extreme SW part of Back Rd 39. I’ve tried to get her to join discussions, but she doesn’t seem to want to get that far into editing. If you downlock, I will watch/guide what she’s doing to make sure it’s correct.

The question is, what should the Back Rds be named – “Back Rd 38” for instance, without the #, and then CR-38 for the alt (and carrying through for the others)? Also, should “Valley Bend” be made an alt with “Back Rd 37” the name, since we are not sure about whether that name is attached by locals to the road as well as the post office recognizing that name for some street?

Ok, all has been downlocked to L1. As far as naming please name it however it is listed on the LGS. If the GIS/locals call it something different please list that as an alt.

Thanks!
Got a lot done, but need L2 > L1 for https://www.waze.com/en-US/editor/?env=usa&lon=-79.92677&lat=38.76569&zoom=4&segments=55626067,55624768,55623488,87355935,87355936,86787281
and
https://www.waze.com/en-US/editor/?env=usa&lon=-79.88151&lat=38.80915&zoom=6&segments=55622122 to finish what there is EA for.

L1 and L1

It appears my sister will be back a few time between now and Labor Day weekend. Is it okay to let the roads stay at L1? If she needs others lowered, we can ask as necessary.

I’ll leave them L1 for now. If they get raised and you need access just let me know.

Thanks!

All of this has been lowered to L1. It also had the wrong functional class so I changed it to street. It can stay L1.
