Brisbane, Chermside. Review this section

Hi again guys,

I have done some updating of this section at it was missing turns and had a bunch of incorrect restrictions. Could some others review this area and see if all looks well. I note the entry into Chermside shopping Centre has not been done?

Cheers,
Gav…

I added a couple of geometry nodes to the middle section. It helps to make sure the right instructions are received.

If you were keen, I would unsplit Kittyhawk Dr back to at least Way St or even Playfield St.

Regarding Chermside Shopping centre, the major routes through it (none of the smaller irrelevant dead end areas), especially in and out, should probably be mapped. Being such a popular shopping complex this is to be expected. Mount Ommaney Shopping Centre is an example of what we would like to see: https://www.waze.com/editor/?zoom=5&lat=-27.5496&lon=152.93897&layers=133&env=row It has all entries and exits mapped and the perimeter road to prevent unwanted locks onto the highway or ramp.

OK I have given that a go. Let me know of any issues.

No need for the dual carriage

Thanks ispyisail,

What about the loss of speed data if I delete those extra segments? I know I have asked about this before but that was in relation to Mackay where it probably isn’t that critical but these are major roads in a capital city?

Gav…

My personal opinion on the loss of data at the moment is little bits at a time shouldn’t hurt. If we unsplit an entire main road it would be interesting (Gympie Rd for example). However this section of Hamilton Drive shouldn’t cause too many speed issues.

Going by the theory of unsplitting where problems pop up, the mere fact that we are looking here says that there was a problem, we may as well unsplit whilst fixing the problem.

OK then done.

I must say your road looks much better now

easy to understand and make correct turn restrictions

That wiki link is for retaining address information (house numbers).

There is no indication that speed data is maintained. Especially if both roads have the direction of travel from A to B or B to A.

Gav,
I’ve cleaned up a few turn junctions that were incorrectly set for this area.
