Bug or Other - Waze routed through a Flooded Road Closure?

Hi.

Following this morning’s mess of the A3 at Liss, i tried to find another route, and Waze routed me through a section of the UK that’s currently flooded out and is actually marked as closed!:Screenshot_2014-03-04-06-28-30.png

I’m not sure what’s gone on here. I was in good reception at the time.

Any suggestions? report it as a bug?

That shouldn’t happen. Can you confirm the segments in the screenshot - I’m trying to get my bearings! Is it the bit of the A32 past Chawton?

Hi David.

I think thats it, yes. Live map link below. I was looking at the possible routes to see which ones i knew.

https://www.waze.com/livemap/?zoom=13&lat=51.12103&lon=-0.96748

It appears the livemap maps correctly around the area, but it’s taking a long time to update the display with the closure ( ~ 20 seconds) at that zoom level, but instantl showed 24 problem icons.

Infact, just routed it again.

https://www.waze.com/livemap/?zoom=10&lat=51.35343&lon=0.12634&from_lat=50.88766&from_lon=-1.00302&to_lat=51.31508&to_lon=-0.33894

Shows going through that area as a possible, viable route if you set time of routing to 07:00.

Reported to Waze.

Not just me then. Thanks!

Yes, sorry I was in a rush. I can replicate the routing through that section at certain types of day. I can’t explain it though.

Don’t worry, i guessed as much, you’re a busy man! I was trying to work it out as well, worrying it was something like an old internet explorer, my phone or something silly!

It’s definitely something silly. The question is whether or not it’s trivial! To Waze!

Waze say they have found and fixed a bug, and another editor has confirmed that it is now working correctly.

Excellent, lets hope we never need it again though!
