Checking in

Hello folks, new user/editor here. Thought I’d make myself known.

I’m a resident of the Bragg Creek area west of Calgary. I commute daily to the NE part of Calgary, and do a bunch of driving in between. In addition, I’m a volunteer firefighter and a dispatcher for the local emergency services (which handles fire for all of Rockyview County and City of Calgary, Municipal District of Bighorn except Canmore, and Kananaskis Country; and all EMS between Lacombe and Fort Macleod, from BC to SK). So I have a pretty good grasp on the road network and mapping details that “should” be on the map.

I have edited a couple of small things on my driving paths, but they’re largely correct as they stand, as far as I can tell. If I see something off my drive that needs work, how do I get it done - post in here, or wait until I become the appropriate level of editor?

Thanks!

Hi Jay,

You can post in the CAN Update & Unlock forum if you’d like to have updates made (that you can’t yet make) – please identify if you’d prefer an unlock to adjust it yourself (if it’s just locked higher) or if you need it to be an update because you don’t have access from your driving area.

Also, remember that you can apply to be an Area Manager!

One major thing that much of rural Alberta needs is help marking the gravel roads as Dirt / 4x4 type. Nearly all of the Range / Township Roads are Primary Street which is not necessarily a good thing.

Please feel free to ask here if you need guidance or tips!

I tried that overnight and got an email instructing me to contact the USA forum to apply for an area manager position. Does that sound right? I specified places within Canada (generally around the west side of Calgary, but I would like to expand that).

No.

Just reply to the e-mail you got from them and tell them that it’s for Canada, not the US.
