[Closure] Chester 10k [10-Mar-2019]

Thanks to PealRinger for entering the closures and creating the MTE for Chester 10k this coming Sunday.

I have noticed a couple of roads not closed in Waze, which though not on the main race route, would have diverted drivers through a closed roundabout.

To correct this:

Pease close 9:20am to 11:30am

  • Deva Link - Saughall Road to A540 Parkgate Road
  • Countess Way - Parkgate Road to Countess Court
  • Permalink

also close 9:00am to 11:30am

  • Blacon Avenue - A point immediately east of West Cheshire Custody Facility to Parkgate Road

Annoyingly, I clicked to mark the original forum post solved, and it’s not possible to remove that flag (why not??). Sorry for the confusion!

Thanks Andrew for handling this again, the closures look good in WME online.

I’ve now received the traffic alert in the Waze app itself.

Interesting, the headline notification was for Sat(urday) 08:00 to 12:30, which was a worry. Online, the MTE is rightly showing 2019-03-10 (Sunday) 08:00 to 13:00.

In the app, clicking the notification/item in my inbox confirms Aldi Chester 10k, March 10th. But the maps shows no candy-striped road closures, and none ever load in the “planned closures” section.

Perhaps it’s the beta version I’m running. Perhaps it’s having an off day.

Thanks again for the closures, now and before. I know they’ll save frustration for any weekend visitors and anyone who hasn’t seen the various signs around the city.
